BEYOND THE SHORELINE: OCEANS 7

How far would you go?

Rising from the depths of addiction and alcoholism, ultra swimmer Steve Leitch takes on the world’s most dangerous and beautiful waters to complete the Oceans 7 swim challenge—using his gifts to serve a mission far greater than himself.

Steve's mission: To serve others through completing the Oceans 7 swim challenge. This ordinary, flawed man is using his God-given gift to overcome challenges, inspire others, and build something bigger than himself.

DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT

“When Steve first told me his story, I was moved—this wasn’t just about swimming. This was about faith, redemption, and using pain as a platform to serve others. That’s when I committed to documenting his journey, starting with his incredible swim across the Molokai Channel. After filming his English Channel crossing and his attempt at the brutal North Channel, I’m more driven than ever to bring this story to the world.

This series is about hard work, unshakable faith, and a relentless ‘why’ that could change lives forever. We invite you to help us make it a reality.”

Where We’ve Been

Steve’s story began with a triumphant crossing of the

Kaiwi Channel (aka The Channel of Bones) 28 miles of open ocean completed in just under 13 hours in April 2023. This self-funded documentary, Beyond the Shoreline: The Channel of Bones, is now available on streaming platforms including Tubi, Amazon Prime, and more.

The Bigger Why

Steve is an ordinary man with an extraordinary story. Once lost in addiction, now a mentor, speaker, author, swimmer, and servant—sharing his testimony through endurance and grace.

Steve isn’t swimming for medals. He’s swimming for lives. Through the Rising Tides Ministry, this series will help fund sober living communities for those after recovery of people who may never know his name, but whose lives will be changed by his journey.

“I don’t want my name on a building. I want to use my God-given gifts to build something that lasts—for people who need it most.” — Steve Leitch

Just like Steve can’t swim these oceans alone, we can’t tell this story without your support.
